There are many examples that can be considered as food
crime. First thing is the instant food, junk foods, food that is high in cholesterol, and many more. For me, it is a food crime because it has a bad
effect to our body that can cause cancer, high blood, heart attack and so on. Although
some of these foods are our all time favorite but now let’s put into our mind
that these can make us also die.
Food sanitation is more than just cleanliness. It included all practices involved in protecting food from risk of contamination, preventing any bacteria from multiplying which would result in an illness of consumers. To avoid these, people handling food must have personal hygiene and sanitation. In every laboratory we have, our Chef always reminding us to wash and sanitize first every station we're using because it is one important rules in the kitchen to avoid illness. When it's done, next are the kitchen utensils. We have also to know about the danger zone of food and must avoid 41 degree F- 140 degree F. Some bacterial growth can occur and many can survive this will lead to illness.
For cross-contamination, it is important not to use the same chopping board at the same time. It is a BIG NO-NO in kitchen rules that's why we have the color coded for the chopping board. Yellow for the poultry, Red for raw meat, Green for vegetables, White for bakery and dairy, Blue for raw fish and Brown for cooked meat. It can contaminate the food and might give you food poisoning.
